LUANDA - The Chinese chamber of commerce in Angola has donated about $350,000 to victims of the Ludian earthquake in China's Yunnan province which killed at least 617 people and left thousands of others injured, Secretary General of the chamber Zhao Hongbing said Saturday.
Chinese companies and expatriates in Angola offered deep condolences to the victims in Ludian, and the donation was expected to be used to rebuild primary schools in Ludian, Zhong said.
Rebuilding the school system in the earthquake stricken areas should be prioritized in the reconstruction efforts as education held the future for the affected children in Ludian, the official said.
