Yao named image ambassador for youth Olympics

The International Olympic Committee announced on Monday that Yao Ming, China's former basketball superstar, has been appointed image ambassador for the second Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, from Aug 16 to 28.
During the games, Yao will communicate with the young athletes, watch games and share his experiences of international basketball games.
Three other athletes from South Africa, the United States and Russia have also been appointed image ambassadors.
The second Youth Olympic Games will include 28 sports. Audience can watch live shows through the official websites of Olympic.org and Olympic.tv.
