A senior Party discipline inspector in Shanxi province is being investigated following allegations of serious violations, the top anti-graft watchdog said on Wednesday.
A statement released by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China said Yang Senlin, 57, deputy head of the provincial discipline inspection commission, is suspected of breaking Party regulations and national laws. The statement gave no further details.
Yang joins a list of more than 20 provincial- and national-level officials who have been investigated this year, and is the fourth senior discipline inspector to be scrutinized.
Yang, a Shanxi native, began his career in the provincial government in 1975 and gradually moved up through the government ranks. He was appointed deputy head of the provincial anti-graft body in 2006.
