Hebei province intends to build its capital city into a major subcenter in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei trilateral zone by giving full play to its natural and human resources, traffic systems and other aspects.

Shijiazhuang, the province's capital, released a plan on Tuesday for promoting the city's cooperation with Beijing and Tianjin amid booming integrated and coordinated development in the trilateral economic hub, Hebei News Network reported on Wednesday.

The city will encourage the development of advanced and modern industries with high added value, including biological medicine production, high-end equipment manufacturing and information industries.

By 2020, the city government forecasts that the added value of major companies in emerging industries of strategic importance will account for 35 percent of all industries' value in the province.

In addition to improved facilities such as an expanded traffic system, the city will explore new ways to attract advanced industries, institutions and universities from Beijing and Tianjin, and also narrow the gap in social welfare.
