NZ woos Chinese tourists

Tourism New Zealand is promoting programs in China to attract more visitors from the country.
It invited five celebrities and opinion leaders to share their tour experiences in New Zealand and recommend itineraries in interview videos.
Participants who access Newzealand.com or Fantasy.newzealand.com to watch the videos and make their own itineraries can win round-trip tickets to New Zealand for two people.
They can also learn about the country's theme-tourism itineraries and tourism products for Chinese visitors.
Musician Gao Xiaosong was to demonstrate the picturesque scenery of New Zealand, including the capital Willington and Waiheke Island, in his online talk show Xiao Shuo.
Independent dress designer Wang Zaishi experienced the country's charms by taking a hot air balloon trip to the New Zealand Alps.
Diehard outdoor sports fan Cai Yingyuan took part in many extreme sports in the country, including skydiving and heli-skiing.
Kevin Tsai, a writer and television host from Taiwan, sampled New Zealand's dairy products, seafood and wines, while journalist Wang Jiangyu enjoyed The Hobbit movie backdrops such as Hidden Bay and Forest River. The trilogy was filmed in more than 150 locations in New Zealand.
Tourism New Zealand's general manager for Asia David Craig said the five recommended itineraries showcase the diversity of the country's tourism resources. Tourism facilities and services have been upgraded, and Chinese travelers can enjoy high-quality tours, he said.
