An urban management official has been removed from his position and four urban auxiliary staff members were dismissed for violence, people.com reported on Tuesday.
The case happened on April 20 when Gao, an official of Anhui provincial inspection and quarantine bureau, was walking in a park in Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, with eight family members including his parents, wife, child and uncle. Six of Gao's family members including Gao were injured after being beaten by more than 10 urban management officials and co-management staff, who later told the family they had been considered scammers.
The city government said on Monday that Jin Biao, head of the team that beat Gao's family, had been removed from his position and the four auxiliary staff members were fired.
The injured family members are being treated in hospital and the case is still under investigation.
