A Chinese army unit in Yunnan is offering 100,000 yuan to anyone who helps locate a soldier - or his weapon - after he went missing during a field training activity, the Shanghai-based Oriental Morning Post reported.
Chen Xin, 22, who was stationed in Hekou county, which borders Vietnam, went missing on April 15 during a routine training exercise while carrying his weapon – but he did not have any ammunition.
The army unit and the local government have set up checkpoints at various locations, and they are also offering 500 yuan for any useful information, in addition to the 100,000 yuan reward for anyone who actually informs them of Chen's location.
