Tibet Airlines Ltd Co will open four new flights at the end of March, including one that links Lhasa with Beijing.
Lin Mingjing, a deputy manager in the publicity department of Tibet Airlines, said that from March 30, the company will open four routes: Lhasa-Yinchuan-Beijing, Lhasa-Golmud, Chongqing-Qamdo, and Lhasa-Xining-Yushu, China News Service reported.
The Lhasa-Yinchuan-Beijing route will takes about four hours and is the shortest route between Lhasa and Beijing, Lin said.
The new flights are expected to boost tourism in the Tibet autonomous region as it will become more convenient to get to places on the plateau, he said.
