The All-China Federation of Trade Unions embraced social media on Wednesday, opening a Sina micro blog account to better promote workers' rights.
The federation has made consistent efforts to help solve pay arrears for migrant workers, given that more than 105 million of them in China have joined trade unions, said Guo Jun, head of the federation's legal affairs department.
He said pay arrears often occur in the construction, shipbuilding and service industries.
Since November 2012, the federation's local branches have investigated more than 472,000 companies and helped more than 1.36 million migrant workers to receive 6.9 billion yuan ($1.1 billion) in delayed payments.
As the largest organization for workers in China, the federation has more than 12,900 legal aid agencies nationwide.
