IPR forum opens in Shanghai

The 10th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum, jointly hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office and the Shanghai government, began on Dec 3.

Shanghai is at a critical period of restructuring and intellectual property has become an important sector for seizing of technological innovation, Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiong said at the opening ceremony.

“We will further implement an intellectual property strategy to promote the use and commercialization of intellectual property, and strive to build Shanghai into an IP center in the Asia-Pacific region by 2020,” Yang said.

Shanghai will further strengthen cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization and foreign countries and regions in the field of intellectual property, to promote the integration of international experience with local practices and achieve a win-win situation, said Lu Guoqiang, director of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration.
