The first Internet audio-visual conference administered by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and the China Internet Information Office, kicked off in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, on Friday.

The conference’s theme was “Responsibility and Innovation”, and it included the industry’s annual forum, an advertising seminar, new tech exhibition and general conference.

Due to its important industry status, the conference was attended by government representatives, as well as those of leading video websites, content providers and terminal companies.

Yang Bo, director of the China Internet Audio-Visual Conference, said that China’s Internet audio-visual industry has produced many popular programs over the past year and that the conference will do much to help develop the industry.

“We chose Chengdu because of its great potential in the industry,” said Zhou Jie, the China Internet Audio-Visual Association’s deputy secretary-general.

As a rapidly growing city in Southwest China, Chengdu is increasing its investment in the Internet audio-visual industry.

Nearly 800 participants attended the conference, with more than 40 CEOs and senior managers speaking at the event.
