Shanghai has listed civilized behaviors into travel contracts to ensure local travelers are on their best behavior on their journeys.
Respecting the customs, cultural traditions, religious taboos, as well as the local ecological environment are among the recently added tourists' obligations on Shanghai's updated traveler's contract, according to the Labor Daily.
Besides that, the penalty sum can be agreed upon between tourists and travel agencies.
Earlier this year, China's National Tourism Administration publicized the Guidebook for Civilized Tourism on its website, telling the increasing number of Chinese overseas travelers how to behave when visiting countries abroad.
