Exhibition to focus on environment protection

The 8th China (Beijing) International Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Exhibition will be held from June 8 to June 11 next year, authorities said.
Organized by the Beijing Municipal Government and National Reform and Development Commission, the exhibition will display and promote new technology and products in energy conservation and environmental protection.
Hong Jiyuan, a commissioner of the Beijing Commission of Development and Reform, said in a news conference on Friday that the frequent smoggy weather in Beijing has received much public attention.
Half of the exhibition held next year will display technology and products related to air pollution control, he said.
He also said the government called for social investment in the sector of air pollution control and the government will also increase investment in the fight against pollution.
Since the first China (Beijing) International Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Exhibition was launched in 2005, it has attracted more than 300,000 visitors, according to the organizers.
