Do you want to know when the next bus will come? Now you can check it out on your smartphone.
Passengers in Beijing now can monitor real-time bus information — including routes, stops and updated arrival time — on an app released on Nov 14, a report in The Mirror said.
Real-time departure and arrival information of more than 2,400 buses at 5,120 stations on 78 different routes will be available for instant reference on the app, jointly developed for the Android system and Apple's iOS by the Transportation Information Center of China and Beijing Public Transport Holdings Ltd.
Passengers can also check bus transfer tips and waiting-time estimates.
The service was tested four times before its release, and the average accuracy rate of the app's time estimates has reached 85 percent.
The service will expand to more urban areas and will cover 100 bus routes by the end of this year, the report said.
