The School of Management of Fudan University announced the establishment of its first International Advisory Board, part of the school's efforts to improve academic competitiveness and enhance its international reputation.

Former vice-premier Li Lanqing was appointed as Honorable Chairman of the Board. Li graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Fudan University, and he has long supported the development of management science education and research. He also founded the Fudan Premium Fund of Management that encourages the theory-practice integration of management sciences education in China.

The first board consists of 27 members who will serve a four-year term and provide guidance for the school's development. They will also intensify communication with government, corporate, and research bodies so as to boost the development of management research and education.

On Saturday, construction started on the new campus of Fudan's management school. Covering a total area of 100,000 square meters, the campus will be built as an open campus fully integrated into the local community. It's expected to be completed in 2016.
