FM: China opposes all forms of terrorism

BEIJING - China's Foreign Ministry has condemned the mall siege in Nairobi and expressed support for the Kenyan government.
Hong Lei, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman said, "China opposes all forms of terrorism. We strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Nairobi. And we'd like to send our deepest condolences to the victims and their families. China will firmly support the Kenyan government's efforts in maintaining national security. "
The spokesman added that China's Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in Nairobi had initiated an emergency plan following the attack.
As of Monday afternoon, one Chinese citizen had been confirmed killed in the attack, with another one injured. The embassy has said that it will make all-out efforts to deal with the aftermath. It has urged Kenyan authorities to take practical measures to protect Chinese citizens and institutions in the country. The Foreign Ministry also said that it would provide all necessary assistance to Chinese citizens in Kenya.
