Authorities in Nansha district, Guangzhou, Guangdong province, plan to launch a pilot quick response code system that will allow people to quickly call the nearest police station.

The development and application of information technology are critical to strengthening public security in Nansha, said Ding Hongdu, Party chief of Nansha district, reported Guangzhou Daily. Ding said a smart system for serving and managing the migrant population has been launched in the district.

A QR code system for managing motorcycles will also be established, he said.
