The service centers, about 6 square meters, will be equipped with self-service payment terminals. Residents nearby can purchase electricity, recharge mobile device cards, and pay gas and telephone bills. It also will provide online shopping services such as purchasing organic vegetables, fruits, and eggs. Business hours will be 7 am to midnight.

The service center at Chaoyangmen subway station is racing to complete construction and be open by Sept 1.

Chinaepay, a company engaged in public payment services, was authorized as the exclusive service provider.

Chinaepay is setting up a website for the sale of fresh fruits and vegetables and some processed foods. “If people order food on the website before 12 am, the firm will deliver the goods before 2 pm to the service station. Consumers will be able to pick up the goods anytime until midnight,” a manager from Chinaepay said. The website will be open for business on Sept 1, Takefoto.cn reported on Friday.
