Villagers take market demolition case to court

A case in which hundreds of villagers appealed the demolition of their market was heard before the court on Wednesday.
The appeal was brought against authorities in Gansu province, Xinhua News Agency reported on Thursday.
The villagers of Chengguan brought their case against the provincial, city and district's governments after the demolition of their market.
The trial on Wednesday was the first one of their 14 cases, according to the city's intermediate people's court.
The court did not deliver a verdict after hearing, the report said.
