Yan'an officials warned over luxury vehicle

Two officials at Yan'an Urban Management Bureau were given a Party warning for using a luxury vehicle, China Daily learned on Thursday.
According to the disciplinary committee of the city's Party committee, the warning was handed out to former director Lu Baoguo and director Zhang Jianchao for driving a Toyota SUV. The vehicle was bought in July, 2008 by a company under the bureau, but used by then director Lu.
In November 2011, Zhang became director and continued to use the car.
On May 31, some staff members of the bureau beat a bike seller who put his bicycles on a street in Yan'an.
The incident in the Shaanxi province city resulted in widespread online comment and the vehicle story emerged.
The bureau staff members who beat the bike seller were detained by police.
