It will only take five hours to travel from Beijing to Dalian in Liaoning province after a high-speed rail line between the two cities is completed this year, the Beijing News reported on Wednesday.
Trial operations for the rail have been taking place since July 16. After it is completed, passengers would not need to transfer at Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning province.
The fastest train linking Beijing to Dalian currently takes seven hours 43 minutes, while the slowest train requires 12 hours.
