Beijing Carrefour fire extinguished

BEIJING - A fire that broke out on the roof of a Carrefour supermarket in downtown Beijing on Wednesday afternoon has been extinguished, according to rescuers.
As of 3:36 pm, the fire on the roof of a Carrefour outlet in Beijing's Chaoyang district had been extinguished. No casualties have been reported, said rescuers.
At 3:03 pm, the fire brigade received a report of a fire at the top of the building, the Beijing Fire-fighting Command Center said.
Around 3:10 pm, heavy smoke and flames were billowing from the top of the building, according to a Xinhua reporter at the scene.
The reporter also said that people were on top of the building while the fire burned.
Firefighters, 14 fire trucks and medical workers have been dispatched to the scene.
Investigation into the fire is under way.
