Xi urges deepening reform, opening up

WUHAN - Chinese President Xi Jinping called for deepening of reforms and further opening-up to facilitate a healthy and sustained economy and solve major problems to realize future goals.
Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks during his trip to central China's Hubei Province from July 21 to 23.
Calling deepening reforms a "strategic decision", Xi urged "a spirit of reform and innovation" in every aspect of state governance and economic development.
He said the key to coping with the contradictions and challenges China faces is to deepen reforms comprehensively.
He emphasized that authorities must free up the mind while seek truth from facts and strike a balance between reform, development and stability.
