A mysterious weapon has been deployed against mosquitoes in Daqing, Heilongjiang province, the local television station reported on Monday.

The city's humid weather and nearby lakes have always attracted the insects but residents say there may be more this year.

In response, the city authorities have developed a large insecticide sprayer that can be put on a car, the report said.

The device can spray 110,000 square meters within 40 minutes.
