8 dead, 12 injured in E China road crash

HANGZHOU - Eight people were killed and another 12 injured after four vehicles were involved in a crash Monday in East China's Zhejiang province, authorities said.
A trailer loaded with paint crashed into a motorcycle, an electric bicycle and a truck around 9:30 am along a provincial-level road in Lianmeng village, Pujiang county in the city of Jinhua, said a spokesman with the county committee of the Communist Party of China.
Five people lost their lives at the scene and another three died in hospital, said the spokesman.
The injured are receiving treatment and it is unknown whether their injuries are life threatening.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
