A newborn baby girl was crushed to death by a car in Xinheng Garden housing estate in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, after she was thrown out of a third-floor window of a building on Tuesday.
The mother of the baby, 18, is suspected of throwing the infant out the window, Heilongjiang TV's metro channel reported.
The mother, identified as Zhang, was taken into criminal custody after police checked surveillance video from the housing estate, which shows Zhang throwing the baby out the window.
According to neighbors, Zhang rented a bed in an apartment and worked at a nearby hair salon. Nobody realized she was pregnant.
