Shanghai residents can learn where to get free contraceptives through a new smartphone application that the local family planning department developed.
Residents can get information of all locations within 1,000 meters where free contraceptives are available by downloading the app and shaking the phone. The app provides the addresses, telephone numbers and service hours of the locations.
Shanghai family planning authorities said that the city's 17 districts and counties have about 5,000 sites with free contraceptives.
