A man who wore masks while stealing cables at a wholesale market in Jiaozhou, Shandong province, was detained by local police on July 7, Qingdao Evening News reported on July 8.
The unemployed man, identified as Lang, 25, bought two masks and made another three with the skin of a pig after learning disguise tricks online, police said.
Since last July, Lang had stolen cables in a market more than 20 times, using a different mask each time by adding elements to his disguise such as a moustache, police said.
Lang allegedly bought Apple, Samsung and Sony cellphones with the approximately 40,000 yuan ($6,518) he got from selling the cables.
It was his using two cellphones on a street that caught the police's attention and led to his arrest.
