The PLA Shenyang Military Area Command said that an online post claiming one of its top officers was the father of a student indicted in a sexual crime in the UK was not true, Xinhua News Agency reported on Saturday.
Zhong Xuanyu, who allegedly sexually harassed a woman at a British university, was said to be the son of Zhong Zhiming, deputy commander of the PLA Shenyang Military Area Command in Northeast China.
The military authorities confirmed that the deputy commander's son is called Zhong Bo, who has never been abroad and has no relation with Zhong Xuanyu.
