More than 10,000 miniature globes were seized during customs checks due to inappropriate borders drawing, customs authorities in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, said on Thursday.
A total of 12,455 sets were found to have separated the Chinese mainland and Taiwan with two different colors, which in map drawing implies different countries, while they were trying to go through Huanggang Customs Service in the coastal city, one of China's major export sites.
The products were made by a Sino-Japan joint venture supplier and were intended to be sold in Japan, said a customs officer surnamed Jiao.
Maps and globes always draw special attention at customs because many of them have drawing mistakes in China's borders and islands, said customs authorities in Shenzhen.
