Chinese president appoints 4 new ambassadors

BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed four new ambassadors to foreign countries, according to a statement issued by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Tuesday.
Xi made the appointments in line with decisions made by the Standing Committee of the NPC, China's top legislature.
Xu Jinghu was appointed ambassador to Switzerland, replacing Wu Ken.
Guan Huabing was appointed ambassador to Laos, replacing Bu Jianguo.
Duan Jielong was appointed ambassador to Singapore.
Sun Weidong was appointed ambassador to Pakistan, replacing Liu Jian.
