A 3-year-old girl from Pizhou, Jiangsu province, was crushed and killed by a truck at about 7 pm on June 2. The driver, detained by the police, was confirmed to be driving while drunk and will be prosecuted soon, China News Service reported on Tuesday.

A video clip widely circulated online shows the girl was knocked down by a truck loaded with goods while the driver was reversing. The girl was run over by the truck repeatedly until the driver stopped and jumped down to pick her up.

The mother of the victim tried to negotiate with the driver, but he did not even offer an apology.
