All five suspects in a rape case in February that gained nationwide attention have been transferred to the prosecutors' agency, People's Daily reported on Monday.
The police have not yet disclosed details of the case, including names and photos of the suspects, according to law, as four of the five suspects are minors, an official with Beijing's public security bureau said.
The official also denied online reports that all five suspects' families have influential backgrounds, adding the police have been handling the case strictly according to the law.
The five were accused of raping a girl at a hotel in Beijing in February. One of the suspects was a 17-year-old, surnamed Li, who is the son of Li Shuangjiang, a famous singer in the People's Liberation Army.
