3 dead, 7 missing in N China flood

HOHHOT - Three people were confirmed dead and seven others are still missing after two vehicles were rushed into a river by flood on Sunday in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, local authorities said on Monday.
A freight car and a minivan, with 21 people on board were washed into a river by a flood unleashed from a mountain at about 5 pm on Sunday in Dongsheng District of Ordos City, local government said.
As of 1:30 am, 11 people were rescued, three others died and another seven people are still missing. More than 400 local police, firefigters, armed police and villagers are still searching for the missing, the government said.
Hit by severe convective weather, some residential houses have also been inundated and road traffic affected severely by torrential rains and hails in the district.
