Taiwan’s Hon Hai Group Chairman Terry Gou has revealed that he will donate 90 percent of his wealth to the cause of public welfare.
Gou is the third-richest person in Taiwan, with a net worth of US$5.1 billion, according to Forbes magazine’s rich list released in March. The amount Gou promised to give away will be more than US$4.5 billion.
Hon Hai hasn’t provided any details about Guo’s donation, but it is worth noting that Gou has launched “alternative public welfare activities” in Taiwan.
Gou engages himself in charity like running a business. He believes that the huge consuming power and demand for services of Hon Hai can provide jobs and business opportunities for other social service agencies, especially for disadvantaged groups.
