Shanghai 'sees 10% annual rise in drug use'

The number of drug users in Shanghai increases by 10 percent each year, according to the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau.
The city tackled more than 1,500 drug-related cases from Jan 24 to May 20, confiscating 350 kilograms of drugs, the Shanghai Morning Post reported.
Nearly 1,700 suspects, including drug dealers and manufacturers, have been caught, according to the bureau.
Methamphetamines has become the major drug, accounting for 80 percent of all confiscated drugs.
The city has 67,000 registered drug users.
