NANCHANG - Five people were missing after a rain-triggered landslide in a tree farm in East China's Jiangxi province Thursday morning, local authorities said.
The disaster in the Wanling tree farm in Da'a township of Xinfeng county also disrupted traffic and telecommunications, the provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters said in a statement.
The rescue operation is under way.
Most parts of Jiangxi have been battered by heavy rainstorms since Tuesday, while Da'a received a rainfall of 106.5 mm from 5 pm Wednesday to 5 am Thursday, it said.
