Vice premier heads earthquake relief organ

BEIJING - Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang has been appointed commander of the State Council's earthquake relief and disaster control headquarters, according to a statement released on government's website china.org on Wednesday.
Chen Jianmin, director of the China Earthquake Administration (CEA); Zhang Qinsheng, deputy chief of staff of the People's Liberation Army; Ding Xuedong, vice secretary-general of the State Council; Du Ying, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission; Jiang Li, vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs; and Liu Jinguo, vice minister of the Ministry of Public Security, are the unit's deputy commanders.
The statement said the CEA is responsible for the specific work of the headquarters.
