Former Chongqing official accused of accepting bribes

Lei Zhengfu, a former senior official in Beibei district, Chongqing municipality, was accused of accepting bribes, according to Chongqing prosecutors on Monday.
Lei, 55, the former Party secretary for Beibei, became known nationwide over a sex video scandal last year.
According to Chongqing Municipal People's Procuratorate No 1 Branch, the Chongqing No 1 Intermediate court has accepted the case, and the hearing will be held at a later date.
Last November, a video of Lei with his lover was released on the Internet.
The local disciplinary inspection department confirmed that the male one in the video was Lei, according to Chongqing disciplinary inspection department.
He was discharged from his post and investigated. He was arrested in February.
So far, the Chongqing disciplinary inspection department has found 21 government officials and senior executives from State-owned enterprises involved in the scandal.
