TAIPEI - A male mainland tourist was found dead Tuesday in the Yangming Mountain on the outskirts of Taipei city, local police said.
Taipei tourism authority confirmed the man, surnamed Li, was from Wuxi city of eastern mainland's Jiangsu province. Li was scheduled to travel with a tourist group in Taiwan between April 15 and 22 but went missing a few days ago.
An investigation into the cause of his death is underway.
This is the second case of a mainland tourist death on the island within a month. On April 5, a male mainland tourist from Anhui province fell off a stairway as he was taking pictures inside Taipei's Palace Museum. He died at a local hospital after treatment failed.
