BEIJING - Wang Qishan, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said Tuesday that the party is firm in its faith and will unswervingly continue to lead the people on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks while meeting with Volker Kauder, chairman of the parliamentary group of Germany's Christian Democratic Union and Christian Social Union (CDU-CSU).
Wang said the CPC attaches great importance to party-to-party exchanges with the CDU-CSU and would like to advance the strategic partnership between China and Germany in a healthy way.
The CPC will work out guidelines and policies in accordance with China's own national conditions, Wang said.
Wang said the CPC's leadership is a fundamental cornerstone for China's development and all 82 million CPC members should follow the central committee in their thoughts and actions.
"As long as we are firmly confident in the theory, road and system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, we will realize the Chinese dream," he said.
Kauder said the CDU-CSU will continue enhancing exchanges with the CPC and make contributions to advance Germany-China relations.
