The roof of Nanjing South Railway Station has several leaks, China News Service reported on Tuesday.
Passengers first reported online that water was seeping through sections of the roof on Sunday.Pictures of plastic bags used by workers to catch the water soon began spreading on micro blogs.
According to China News Service, as many as 40 bags had been placed around the station, in the capital of Jiangsu province.A spokesman on Tuesday said a construction company had been called to fix the leaks.
The station opened in 2011 and cost 30 billion yuan ($4.82 billion) to build. Media reports about roof leaks began the same year, prompting managers to insist the problem had been solved.
