Former vice-mayor of Shenzhen expelled from Party

Liang Daoxing, former vice-mayor of Shenzhen in Guangdong province, has been expelled from the Party for serious disciplinary violation and suspected crime, the Guangdong Provincial Party Commission for Discipline Inspection announced on its website on Monday.
Liang was found to have asked for, and accepted, huge bribes and to have granted the bribers benefits.
His income resulting from disciplinary violation has been confiscated and his case of suspected crime has been transferred to the judiciary.
Liang, 64, was vice-mayor of Shenzhen between 2002 and 2009. He was director-general of the executive office for the 26th Summer Universiade, which the city hosted in 2011.
