The China (Karamay) International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition will be held on Sept 2, China Daily learned on Friday.
According to Wang Gengsheng, deputy mayor of Karamay in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the exhibition will be co-sponsored by the China International Trade and Investment Promotion Association, the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC.
The exhibition is one of the most important international industry events in central Asia and the highest-ranked national trade show for the petroleum and petrochemical industries.
Last year's event attracted 422 companies and more than 26,000 entrepreneurs and experts. Karamay will be the host of the exhibition once every two years from 2013.
Karamay is one of China's key oil and gas production bases. Its crude oil production reached 11.03 million tons in 2012.
