BEIJING - Zhang Dejiang was elected chairman of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee on Thursday morning at the ongoing annual session of Chinese top legislature.
Zhang, born in 1946, is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
