Beautiful China, a performance of music from classic Chinese documentaries will be held in the National Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 pm on Wednesday.
Produced by documentary channel CCTV-9 and the NCPA, the concert will present the scores of 14 popular documentaries such as The Forbidden City and A Bite of China.
Led by famous conductor Lu Jia, the concert will feature a huge LED screen playing scenes from the documentaries, allowing the audience to see the ideas behind the melodies.
China's former Party chief Hu Jintao advocated the building of a "beautiful" China to be part of the country's overall development plan when delivering a keynote report during the opening ceremony of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on Nov 8, 2012.
It is the first time the concept of "beautiful China" has been written into the keynote report at the five-yearly CPC National Congress.
CCTV's president Hu Zhanfan said the concert will impress the audience with the country's beauty by combining amazing sound and sight.
