2 dead, 11 trapped in SW China mine accident

GUIYANG - A coal and gas outburst has left two people dead, three injured and 11 others trapped in Southwest China's Guizhou province, local authorities said Friday.
The accident occurred at 5:29 pm at the Jinjia Coal Mine under the Panjiang Investment Holding Group, according to the work safety bureau of Liupanshui city.
Eighteen people were working underground at the time of the accident. Three of the five miners who have been lifted out of the mine were injured, but their conditions are not yet known.
Rescuers have been dispatched to the scene.
A further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
