The film star Jet Li visited children in Bocuan village's Xiangjiazhai primary school, in Guizhou province, on Saturday with staff members from his charity, One Foundation, to distribute warm clothes and school supplies.
Li and his staff, as well as his charity partners, arrived at the school in the morning, taking and playing with the children before giving 151 of them each a package and cotton quilt.
Li Hong, director of disaster relief for One Foundation, said the package contains cotton-padded clothes, a hat, a scarf, stockings, shoes, medicine to protect a person against frost and school supplies.
"I believe the children who receive the packages will remember that many donors are concerned about them," he said. "These thoughts will help to keep them warm during Spring Festival."
The foundation has sent 21,300 of the packages to children and orphans who were victims of weather disasters in Southwest China in 2012.
