BEIJING - Chinese special envoy to the Middle East Wu Sike will visit Israel, Palestine, the United Nations Headquarters and the United States from October 19 to 28, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said at a regular press briefing on Thursday.
Since the Middle East peace process has been hampered by recent unrest in West Asia and northern Africa, Wu will exchange views with relevant sides on the Palestine-Israel issue and the current situation in the region in a bid to promote peace talks, Hong Lei said.
As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China will continue to play an active and constructive role in boosting the Middle East peace process together with the international community, Hong added.
