In May 2005, CPC member Nyima Tsering passed the government examinations to become the deputy chief of Jicang village in Tongren county, Huangnan Tibet autonomous prefecture, Qinghai province.
He was modest, self-disciplined, dedicated to his work, and made hard efforts to improve the quality of life for farmers. In 2009, he helped three university students apply education loans. Then in May this year, he organized a campaign to raise 400,000 yuan for a family that fell into debt due to high medical costs.
Nyima Tsering also won popular support for his innovative ways to develop the local economy while protecting the environment. He introduced improved breeds of cattle, sheep and goats to farmers, promoted the production of juice from the sea buckthorn fruit, and advocated the use of plastic membrane in planting potatoes to increase farmer's income, In 2010, the average income of the villagers reached its highest level of 3,132 yuan.
In March 2011, he was promoted to be Party chief in Jicang village.
